Protocol
A private meeting assistant for a small team. It records calls, transcribes them on the recording person's own computer and turns the transcript into a written record: decisions, commitments, risks and open questions.
What it does
- Records a call from Google Meet, Zoom or Telegram on the computer of the person who started the recording.
- Transcribes the audio locally, on that computer.
- Builds a meeting record from the transcript, with a quote and a timestamp behind every item, so each commitment can be checked against what was actually said.
- Prepares the next call: sets up a meeting room and tells the invited people where to join — only after a team member confirms it.
How Protocol uses Google
Protocol connects to one Google account — the team's assistant account — and uses it for two things, each time a team member asks for a meeting and confirms it:
- Google Meet — creates a meeting room and chooses whether people
with the link join directly or ask to be let in
(scope
meetings.space.created). - Google Calendar — adds the meeting to the assistant account's
calendar with the time and the invited people (scope
calendar.events).
Protocol does not read mail, contacts, files or other calendar events, and does not access Google Meet recordings or transcripts. Details are in the privacy policy.
Who can use it
Protocol is not a public service and has no sign-up. It is used by invited members of one team.
